Psychology Services in Lismore
Our Lismore psychology clinic offers a personalised approach, tailoring therapy sessions to the unique needs of each individual.
We have a special interest in Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR), but depending on the needs of the client, elements of other modalities such as Cognitive Behavioural Therapy (CBT), Emotional Freedom Techniques (EFT), Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT), Motivational Interviewing (MI) and Solutions Focused Therapy may be applied.
What is Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) ?
The aim of ACT is to help individuals develop ways of thinking, feeling and behaving that will support them to live a rich and meaningful life. It promotes the development of psychological flexibility, which is the ability to manage uncomfortable thoughts and feelings and adapt to challenge and change that is inevitable in life.
During sessions clients learn new skills and spend time identifying and strengthening their understanding of their values, what's important to them and associated goals.

What is Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR)?
EMDR is an extensively researched psychotherapy that enables people to heal from the symptoms and emotional distress that are the result of disturbing life experiences. It employs Bilateral stimulation (often eye movements) to help reprocess distressing or disturbing memories into an adaptive state, so that they have less impact upon current experience.
EMDR is best known for its effectiveness in treating PTSD, however it has been demonstrated to be effective in the treatment of a range of other mental and general health conditions such as anxiety, depression, phobias, addiction, chronic pain, migraines and tinnitus.

Ronny Lindsay
– Registered Psychologist
Hi, I’m Ronny,
Founder of Enliven Minds Psychology. I have been lucky enough to live in the Northern Rivers region for the past 15 years and understand some of the challenges and issues people may face that are specific to this area.
Having worked within the Forensic field for the past 4 years I strongly believe in the capacity for people to make changes in their life that support positive growth, help manage difficult circumstances and challenges, and lead them in a direction toward a rich and meaningful life.
My approach is non—judgemental, compassionate and collaborative, yet I also like to provide clients with practical tools right from the first session, that they can implement to help make positive adjustments towards challenges they may be facing.
I resonate strongly with the concepts informing the Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT) and Eye Movement Desensitisation and Reprocessing (EMDR) models, and generally practice within these frameworks, depending on the individual needs of the client.
